Terms of use
What this is
SourceText is a study tool. It retrieves scripture and reports what the text says, marking each claim for whether the text asserts it, whether it was inferred, or whether the text leaves it open.
What it is not
It is not a substitute for reading the text yourself, and it is not pastoral, theological, legal, medical or financial advice. The answers are generated by a language model. The discipline described on this site constrains that model and is measured against a standing test set, but no such constraint is perfect: verify anything that matters against the text itself. Every citation is live precisely so you can.
The text is free; the service is provided as is
The scripture, lexicons and cross-references are public domain or CC BY and remain so — see credits. The service around them is provided without warranty of any kind, and Allegro IT ApS is not liable for any loss arising from its use, to the extent permitted by Danish law.
Fair use of the service
Passage pages and the corpus API are open, including to crawlers. The question feature is limited per browser per day because each question costs money to answer. Circumventing that limit, or using the service to generate load rather than to study, is not permitted.
Changes
These terms may change as the service does. Material changes will be noted here with a new date.
Governing law
Danish law applies, and the courts of Denmark have jurisdiction.
